Was rummaging through some photos and found this one Kayla snapped of me. This is in Monterrey, California, right after Lightning in a Bottle festival. We had been on the road for I think almost three weeks by this point, and we stoped at this excellent laundromat to do a little work, charge all our devices, and clean everything up from our journey from Kansas. If you zoom in, you might be able to see the little thumbnail sketches of some Bisco Beetles starting. I loved Monterrey. It’s a beautiful little coastal town with a slow pace and kind people. Perhaps it was having a clean shirt and sheets for once, but being by those foggy, rocky shores was comforting for some reason. Hope to make it back there in 2019. 🌊 🌫 (at Sudz Cyber Laundry)

Its super surreal and exciting to finally have a collection of stickers I can call my own. I’ve always loved stickers. Growing up, I had a huge collection of them on the sides of my dresser. I loved all the different illustrations, effects, sizes and shapes. I remember going skiing for the first time in Colorado, and seeing all the wild stickers people had slapped to the lift poles.

There seemed to be so much cool art happening in stickers. They felt raw, oozing with a street art attitude that seemed especially exotic to my rural Kansas self. I wanted to be a part of it, but I looking back on it now, I simply lacked the confidence in my work to go for it.

Fast-forward to now, where I’ve just released 10 high-quality vinyl slaps of my work. The ones pictured are my more nature-inspired pieces. It’s so cool to hold a little vibrant piece of art that I made and truly enjoy. I hope you like them too!
